Installing Capey
The first time you open the installer, Windows may show a blue box that says "Windows protected your PC". That's normal for new apps from small makers. Here's how to get past it in two clicks.
-
Download and open the installer
Download Capey, then open Capey Setup.exe from your Downloads folder.
If your browser says the file "isn't commonly downloaded", choose Keep (in Edge: the ··· menu, then Keep, Show more, Keep anyway).
Download for Windows -
Click "More info"
If the blue box appears, don't press "Don't run". Click the small More info link instead.
Windows protected your PC
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.

Click "Run anyway"
The box now shows the app name and a new button. Click Run anyway.

Say hi to your pets!
Follow the installer. When it finishes, the puppy and kitten pop up on your taskbar. Their settings and the Hero Pass live in the Capey icon in the system tray, near the clock (you may need to click the small ^ arrow).
Why does Windows warn me?
Windows SmartScreen shows this box for apps that aren't signed with a paid code-signing certificate, or that haven't been downloaded by many people yet. Capey is a small indie app and doesn't have that certificate yet (it costs a lot every year). The warning doesn't mean anything bad was found.
The Microsoft Store version is checked by Microsoft and installs without this warning. Get Capey from the Microsoft Store
Is it safe?
Yes. Capey has no ads, no trackers and no account, and everything stays on your PC. Only download it from the button on this website. Read our privacy promise or ask us anything.
